Norah Jones ha presentado su versión largamente enterrada de «Hallelujah, I Love Him So» de Ray Charles para celebrar el vigésimo aniversario de su debut histórico Come Away with Me. Escucha a continuación.
“Déjame contarte sobre un chico que conozco/ Es mi bebé y vive al lado”, canta sobre una línea de bajo que rebota en su versión invertida de género del clásico de 1956. “Todas las mañanas antes de que salga el sol/ Me trae café en mi taza favorita/ Por eso lo sé, sí, lo sé/ Aleluya, lo amo tanto”.
Jones originalmente grabó la canción durante una de sus primeras sesiones de demostración para Blue Note Records en 2000, dos años antes del lanzamiento de su debut, que eventualmente se convertiría en uno de los álbumes más vendidos de todos los tiempos.
Ahora, el cover estará disponible por primera vez como parte de Come Away with Me: 20th Anniversary Super Deluxe Edition, una reedición de varios discos que llegará el 29 de abril. Contiene otras 21 pistas inéditas, incluidas demostraciones de «Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most» de Ella Fitzgerald, «Walkin’ My Baby Back Home» de Nat King Cole y «World of Trouble» de Lou Rawls.
