The Police ha anunciado una caja en expansión que amplía enormemente su quinto y último álbum de estudio, Synchronicity de 1983. La tardía celebración del 40 aniversario, que se lanzará el 24 de julio, presenta docenas de temas inéditos.
La caja de CD de súper lujo incluye 55 tomas alternativas recién descubiertas, tomas descartadas, demos y una grabación en vivo del concierto de The Police en Oakland, California, el 10 de septiembre de 1983. Ensamblado durante tres años con la ayuda de Sting, Andy Summers y Stewart Copeland, el paquete también incluye nuevas notas y entrevistas, recuerdos y fotografías de archivo, y otro material nunca antes visto.
Otras ediciones un poco menos completas de la caja incluyen una versión 4xLP de lujo y 2xCD. Los pedidos anticipados están en curso.
Lanzado originalmente el 17 de junio de 1983, Synchronicity pasó 17 semanas en la cima del Billboard 200. El sencillo principal, «Every Breath You Take«, encabezó el Hot 100 durante ocho semanas.
